Fitting into Your Curriculum
The fundamental areas of physics which must be covered in an IOP accredited physics curriculum are electromagnetism, quantum physics, classical mechanics, statistical physics and thermodynamics, wave phenomena and properties of matter. The 2022 Physics Degree Accreditation Framework explains that the curriculum must reflect “the diversity of people who have contributed to physics“. These pages include some suggestions of physicists to include and explore some of the historical context around how physics knowledge has been constructed in these areas.
